Light Weekend Reading

Well I heard there was some new book on the market this weekend. I don't know much about it, but from what I can tell it has something to do with the homoerotic tales of a prepubescent wizard and his "partner."

While the rest of the world was reading about a young magical boy and his broomstick, I also engaged in a little light reading myself. I know these are nothing compared to Harry Potter and the Hendersons (or whatever the name of the book is), but I liked them. I only had time for four:

The Basic Works of Aristotle, edited by Richard McKeon (A little Metaphysics baby)

Homer's The Odyssey. (Although that Odysseus can be a bit of bitch)

A little Hegel. There's nothing funny about Hegel.

And my favorite of the weekend. Beyond Good & Evil by Friedrich Fucking Nietzsche.

Don't worry - I won't ruin the endings for you.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, because I love you and want you to be happy.

Are you just showing off your book collection? Did you purposefully open up that page of Nietzsche? I highly doubt you actually read these books.

Oh yeah, and I totally tried to enlarge the picture to see if I can see if you are packing.

Not bad, Reid. Not bad at all.

I just came across your blog for the first time. Huh. larious. I loved the virgin wedding post. N E way, most delectable. I will be stopping by often! You're a natural comedian. You should consider do this stuff on stage. (I should know---being a comedienne myself.) Nice coming across your blog.

Nietzsche is such an asshole. I'd never go out with him. You know, if he were alive and actually asked me.

Reading is for pussies!!! Or smart people... One of those, I think...

DmbMeg: Why do you doubt? I don't seem like the type to study philosophy on the weekend? And knowing that you would do that, I tried to make myself look like I was packing. I don't think it worked.

Lucy: How nice of you to say. I like the use of the word delectable. I am going to start using that to describe myself. "Hi, I'm Garrett. I am an attorney. . . and also quite delectable."

Mindy: Have you seen the guy's mustache? Asshole or not, that mustache is pretty hot.

Erica: I agree is has to be one of those. 3d category possibility: Reading is for people that want blog readers to think they are smart.

I recently realized you were back in the blog world... don't leave again!

That virgin wedding post had me laughing for 5 minutes. I once dated a virgin for a few months... the virginity didn't last, but I didn't get no stinkin' ring!

no one read's aristotle's metaphysics. hegel is only useful in german. and although nietzsche is enjoyable, stick to the commentaries.

I read this weekend too, but I read really deep stuff... "People" and "Sports Illustrated." You can have the light stuff... I need to think when I read!

Wow, it's nice to see another person who reads this stuff. Having been a philosophy major, I've actually read all four of those books.
